What is ACENET
ACENET is a consortium of Atlantic Canadian Universities providing researchers with advanced research computing resources, collaboration and visualization tools, software, training, and support.
Our HPC resources are connected by several Optical Regional Advanced Networks (ORAN’s) including ACORN-NL and ACORN-NS, with links of various speeds up to 10 gigabits/second. The backbone of the network is the CANARIE Network, which provides advanced research networking into each province.
ACENET is a regional partner with the Digital Research Alliance of Canada, the national organization responsible for advanced research computing in Canada. ACENET is supported by the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI), the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), the research and innovation initiatives of the provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador, the National Sciences & Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and our major member universities.
How to Acknowledge ACENET
Researchers are requested to acknowledge ACENET and its major funders in publications and reports on research undertaken using ACENET resources, either in whole or part. The following can be used as a guide:
- Computational facilities are provided by ACENET, the regional digital research infrastructure consortium for post-secondary institutions in Atlantic Canada. ACENET is funded by Industry, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) through the Digital Research Alliance of Canada (the Alliance), the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), and the provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
