ACENET Institutes are virtual institutes that develop and enhance collaboration within research communities that have a critical mass within Atlantic Canada in areas that depend heavily on HPC resources. The Institutes, funded by ACENET, host meetings and seminars (often over videoconferencing), sponsor conferences and visiting speakers, and represent their members' research requirements to the ACENET community.

Materials Modelling and Simulation

The ACENET Institute for Materials Modelling and Simulation (ACEmat) is an effort to coordinate, develop and support activities focusing on the materials modelling research community in Atlantic Canada. More information on ACEmat goals and activities can be found here.

Computational Chemistry

The ACENET Institute for Computational Chemistry (AICC) aims to bring together researchers from Atlantic Canada with interests in any area of Computational Chemistry. The AICC funds a speaker tour each year and also hosts the Atlantic Theoretical Chemistry Symposium each summer. Anyone interested in the AICC should email the chair, Ray Poirier.
