MATLAB is a high-level language and interactive environment for numerical computation, visualization, and programming. "It is used for machine learning, signal processing, image processing, computer vision, communications, computational finance, control design, robotics, and much more."

If you have access to the MATLAB Compiler on a Linux machine, you can compile your code and run it from the command line using the MATLAB Runtime environment.

The MATLAB Distributed Computing Server was supported at ACENET until 2018 June 30, at which time the license was allowed to lapse. The license will not be renewed, in anticipation of the retirement of Placentia in early 2019. Users of the DCS should migrate to national systems. See MATLAB on national systems for guidance.

The MATLAB GUI or "desktop" is not available on ACENET machines, except by special arrangement.
